About to head to party at Lavo, and wasn’t able to pick up my media badge today. If anyone sees this, please make sure I’m not bounced.

I have enough work to do to easily justify an all-nighter, and a Monday schedule from 8 AM – 1 AM. Decisions, decisions.

Thinking of going to the Blogworld party, but I have to blog first. Not sure if this fits me right in or if I’m the saddest man in Vegas.

  • Peter Bright:
I wonder what the TV companies will do when they realize the double upgrade cycle (digital, HD) was a one-off, and that 3D/4K are DOA.

actually, something like that is on my pr list for this year.

  • Geoff Duncan:
    Uh, errr…then, CES 2014: 3D glasses with built-in EEG sensors for thought-driven channel-changing!

there’s a heart monitor that affects music tempo. I’ll see what they have for traffic.

  • Shawn King:
Refresh my memory – didn’t Apple at some point in the distant past attend/exhibit at CES? Like in the 1990’s?

don’t think so. I was here for some of those.

never saw a show floor booth.

  • Philip Michaels:
“At Toby Keith’s, we only serve what we kill. Tonight’s Special: Hippies.”

Are you staying at Harrah’s?

  • Philip Michaels:
No, just passing through on my way to other things.

I was there last night, and I’m not sure I’d recognize you in the real world. Buzz me if there’s an IDG kaffeeklatch.

  • Christina Warren:
My feed is so full of RG3 tweets. I had no idea everyone but me watched football. It’s football right?

I’ve always assumed that RG3 was the second sequel to an SF flick I missed.

  • Louis Rossetto:
Twenty years ago today, we launched Wired — first copies were distributed at MacWorld SF 1993. It certainly has felt like a Bengali typhoon!

. I picked up my first ish at CES 1993.

  • Sharon Hill:
A lofty goal in life is NOT to become like one’s parents. I’ve worked hard at that.

I used to do this well, but it all went to hell when I passed 40. More like my Dad every day. Not entirely a bad thing.

Note to self for 2014: thing to bring that was left out of the bag this trip, Provigil. Apparently I can’t pull all-nighters like I used to.
