  1. Table salt is sodium chloride.
    Na: 22.99 atomic weight; Cl: 35.45.
    Percentage by weight of NaCl that is sodium: 22.99/(22.99+35.45)=39.3%.
    1500 mg * 39.9% = 590 mg.
