This article answers contradictory information I’ve seen on Facebook. Cop fatalities are lower than they’ve been in decades; cop *shootings* are up, but most of that is post-Dallas.

What strikes me is a cultural change similar to what happened with astronauts; we used to have a perception that “this job is dangerous”. That’s why we call both “heroes”. One cop shooting is definitely tragic, but this article asserts it’s “too many”. We ask them to police heavily armed criminals (and untrained civilians); what should we expect? Police are safer under Obama than they have been in decades
